Morrow Residence: Construction
challenges/Innovative techniques:
- Existing house literally collapsing - the entire
center of the three story house had to be jacked up to
level with massive new foundation and girders.
- Design mandate: start with the Arts and Crafts
Movement aesthetic, use different types of woods, make
additions look like they've always been apart of the
house.
- Many items, including cabinetry, some doors and
windows, some light fixtures, all moldings and woodwork
were handmade for this project.
