Chabre Kitchen:
The Chabre’s wanted to increase their kitchen space, connect the living/family room with the kitchen and take advantage of the view they have of the foothills, while keeping within the modern design of the existing architecture.
To do that, project architect Ty enlarged the kitchen layout, angled the exterior walls towards the foothills, and added a large skylight above the kitchen island. Adding a skylight enhanced the dynamic space with natural light. An existing wall was replaced with a stepping room divider to add to the visual connection between the living areas and kitchen.
This project recently won Remodeling Magazine's 2004 Best of the Year Remodeling Design Award.
"Our kitchen is a beautiful and functional piece of three-dimensional art. The HartmanBaldwin team succeeded in integrating innovative design with fine craftsmanship in creating this wonderful space for us. It has become the focal point of our home and our lives." - Anne and Frank Chabre
