Jones Kitchen: The primary challenge in re-designing this home was to eliminate the narrow, segmented feeling of the entry, kitchen, dining area, and family room. The rooms were closed-in by walls and hallways, and made the home seem too dated. The small, cramped size of the spaces also didn't encourage gathering or interaction between guests in different spaces.

To achieve a more fluid floor plan, architect Ty redesigned this area of the home removing existing walls and using architectural details to create natural divisions among spaces. The dining area is raised from the entry area, and provides ample room for guest circulation. The kitchen was re-designed with traditional themes, interpreted through modern styles. The open view from the kitchen into the family room, along with a more open plan, allows for lots of interaction. Job Foreman Troy ensured the smooth transition of details from architectural plan to building reality.
