Kotovsky/Libeskind Kitchen: The kitchen in this house was too small and cramped for this family with two young children. They needed more room, but they also wanted to make sure that the design was in keeping with their personalities and with the unique style of their home. In keeping with the 1950's post-and-beam modernist architecture of the house, the new kitchen is functional and straightforward, while still maintaining a sense of playfulness.

The new design of the kitchen plays with color in a variety of different ways. The magenta pole in the center acts as a strong focal point, while the legs of the center island are each finished in a different color. The modernist style is also maintained through the use of sleek stainless steel and rich, multicolored wood. A variety of "hidden" features add to the functionality and convenience of the kitchen, including a pantry that lights when the door opens and a pull-out TV shelf.
