Snortum Kitchen and Deck: This Village bungalow was originally built in 1925. Its kitchen was narrow and small, with a door leading to a side yard, and a service porch. Bonnie needed more space in the kitchen, as well as a comfortable outdoor space in which to enjoy her garden.

Expanding the kitchen into the service porch area adds valuable space. The washer and dryer are nestled ingeniously under the counter, matching the other appliances and maximizing the functionality of the space. The Arts & Crafts style redesign of the kitchen blends seamlessly into the rest of the house. The new deck, level with the kitchen and shaded by a trellis, is a natural extension of the house. The design of this cozy outdoor living space uses hidden hardware to draw attention to the natural beauty of the wood.
