Our clients’ 1964 home was ready for a major redesign of its first floor which included everything from the entry through living spaces and kitchen. The new spaces are now elegant, contemporary and functional as they overlook one of Southern California’s most impressive landscapes.
The kitchen backsplash is fashioned with subtle angles and anchors the surrounding walnut cabinetry with its attractive sea glass color. A spacious island provides a generous eating area that works well for casual entertaining.

An interior wall was removed in the family room to allow natural light to illuminate the rest of the home. A new wall cabinet system in a rich walnut now provides for plenty of storage as well as a nice focal point.

This home features many unique characteristics, one being the original lava rock found on the living room fireplace wall. To update the space, a concrete plaster surround was added to create a modern accent in the room. The floating harth was also refinished to match the original terrazzo flooring in the home.
