Multi-Phase Transformation of an Old English Home into Rustic, Contemporary Space
Remodeling a home that’s rich in history is no small undertaking. Special care should be taken when dealing with mature structures and building materials, but it is equally as important to respect the original architecture to preserve and enhance the home’s legacy. As we approached the renovation and expansion of this 1931 Old English-style home, the first order of business was to learn as much about it as possible. Luckily, our client was dutiful in her research and kept many historical documents and photos.
The master plan of this remodel affected nearly every aspect of our client’s home and took a few years to complete due to a multi-phase approach. The initial phase included a kitchen remodel, upgrades to doors, restoration and repair of windows, much-needed foundation work, and an update to the HVAC system. The second phase focused on redesigning the bathrooms and adding a new conservatory and outdoor terrace. Our most recent phase completed a 750-square-foot master suite addition and landscaping projects throughout the property.
